Academy of Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship Pathways are available to students in grades 9–12
Prerequisites:
The program is open to all students with an interest in Business Management and Hospitality & Tourism. No prior experience or coursework is required.
Course Requirements:
Students complete a sequence of business-related courses aligned to their chosen pathway, including foundational business principles, marketing, entrepreneurship, and pathway-specific courses such as Hospitality & Tourism or Business Management. Students are encouraged to participate in Business Professionals of America (BPA) and prepare for industry certifications, including the ESB Certification and ServSafe (Hospitality).

• Unweighted Grade Point Average: 2.5 (core classes)
• Florida Standards Assessment scores (English Language Arts and Mathematics): level 3 or greater. If FSA scores are not available, applicants must provide nationally recognized standardized test scores in reading and mathematics: score 50% or greater.

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) provides transportation for magnet students attending Hallandale High School residing inside of Broward County more than two miles from the school and south of Sunrise Blvd.

• The transportation schedule is mailed to parents of registered students prior to the first day of school by BCPS Transportation Department.

Students accepted into Hallandale Magnet High School’s Entrepreneurship Pathways have access to Magnet transportation services for families living south of Sunrise Boulevard. Eligible students may receive district-provided bus transportation to and from school based on their home address and designated Magnet routes. Specific bus stop information is assigned by Broward County Public Schools Transportation once enrollment is confirmed.

If you don’t have an account, click “Create Account” and follow the instructions.

2. Select the Magnet Application.
After logging in, look for the “Forms” or “Applications” section.
Click on “Magnet Application.”

3. Choose Hallandale Magnet High School.
Select Hallandale Magnet High School-Academy of Entrepreneurship, STEM & Multi-Media Technology

4. Complete all required information.
Review student details and answer all questions.
Make sure everything is accurate before submitting.

5. Submit the application within the Magnet Window.
The Magnet Application Window is November 3 – December 19.
Applications must be submitted by December 19 to be considered. (Phase 1)

6. Save or print your confirmation. After submitting, save or print the confirmation page for your records.

We offer two specialized pathways: Business Management and Hospitality & Tourism. Both tracks provide hands-on learning, leadership opportunities, and preparation for industry certifications such as ESB and ServSafe.

No experience is required. The program is open to all students in grades 9–12, and all foundational skills are taught through the course sequence.

Students have the opportunity to earn Entrepreneurship & Small Business (ESB) certification through both pathways. Hospitality & Tourism students can also earn the ServSafe Food Handler certification.

BPA provides students with leadership development, competitive events, networking, and real-world business experience. Participation helps build communication, teamwork, and professional skills.
